NUTANIX
Why Nutanix?
At Evolv we believe that your infrastructure shouldn’t be a bottleneck – it should be the foundation that empowers your business, supports growth, and adapts to change. That’s why we partner with Nutanix.
Nutanix is a leader in hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) and hybrid-cloud platforms, delivering a unified stack that brings compute, storage, virtualisation, and networking together in one highly scalable solution.
Driving Business Performance and
IT Efficiency
Here are the key advantages of adopting Nutanix as your infrastructure platform.
Simplified Operations
Nutanix’s single-pane management reduces the operational overhead of traditional three-tier infrastructure.
Scalability and Flexibility
As your business grows, the infrastructure grows with you, without wholesale forklift upgrades.
Cost Efficiency
By consolidating compute, storage and virtualisation, Nutanix can reduce complexity compared to legacy three-tier solutions.
Traditional & Modern Workloads
Whether you’re running standard virtual machines, containers or planning next-gen workloads (AI, Kubernetes), Nutanix offers the platform to support them.
Migration Friendly
For organisations moving away from legacy systems due to complexity, cost or an inability to plan for the future, Nutanix has the tools to seamlessly migrate workloads to its trusted platform.
In short: Nutanix aligns with our “Partner. Protect. Prosper.” Ethos. It means that we can build infrastructure to partner with your ambitions, protect your data and continuity, and let you prosper with IT that plays a strategic role in your business.
Evolv IT + Nutanix
Our Partnership in Action
We’ve worked with Nutanix for several years, delivering infrastructure projects across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and the UK. Many organisations have trusted us to design, deploy and support their Nutanix environments; from green-field builds through to large migrations and managed services.
Designed for Clarity
We wanted a platform that removes infrastructure complexity. We saw Nutanix delivering the perfect solution, that is essentially vendor agnostic, with proven performance and simpler management operations.
Engineered for Efficiency
The streamlined operational model allows us to deliver faster turn-around and lower support overhead for our clients.
Built for Longevity
Nutanix gives us the confidence to support both current workloads and those next-generation demands (containers, hybrid cloud) without needing to re-design from scratch and replace again.
Backed by Experts
Nutanix provides un-paralleled support, accessible through a dedicated portal that all Nutanix end users have access to. The speed of response and the level of expertise continues to out-perform competitors, and continues to fill us with confidence for every project that we complete.
Powered by Partnership
From a partner perspective, Evolv benefit from local sales and technical resources that have our back every step of the way, whether that’s designing, implementing or supporting a solution.
This isn’t a one-way relationship…
Our Engineers and Nutanix go way back!
Having worked with Nutanix for many years, on many different hardware vendor platforms, our engineers have built a trusted relationship with both local and the EMEA regional teams. Evolv have become the ‘go-to’ partner that Nutanix trust to carry out Professional Services on their behalf across Ireland.
What it means for your business when you engage us for a Nutanix project:
We embed ourselves as your technology partner: designing with your business strategy in mind, not just selling hardware.
We manage the complexity, so your team can focus on the benefits that are provided to your business.
We design solutions with futureproofing in mind. This means that we provide a solution with just the right amount of growth allowance, rather than a greater solution than needed for the ‘just-in-case’.
We use our years of experience across Ireland and the UK to bring practical best-practices, helping you get more from the Nutanix platform.

Nutanix vs other platforms (e.g., VMware)
Unified architecture rather than piecemeal layers
Nutanix is designed as a true HCI platform from the ground up.
Simpler management, fewer components
The operational overhead tends to be lower on Nutanix, especially in environments where the business is looking for agility. Nutanix’s relationship with multiple vendors means that there is a promise that support lies with them or the vendor as a one stop call. The end use does not get passed from one to the other.
Licensing and scaling flexibility
Nutanix’s model gives clients more freedom to scale in a modular way.
Modern workload readiness
Nutanix supports not just VMs but containers, hybrid cloud, edge, and many more evolving use-cases.
Getting started with Nutanix & Evolv IT
If your organisation is considering a refresh, migration or new build infrastructure project, here’s how we can help:
Discovery and Roadmap
We’ll work with you to understand your business drivers, current infrastructure, and what you’ll need to scale and protect your operations.
Design
Leveraging Nutanix best practice we’ll design a solution aligned with your needs (on-premises, hybrid cloud or edge).
Implementation
From hardware selection, cluster build to data migration, we take care of the detail from start to finish.
Managed Service and Support
Post-deployment we provide the ongoing managed service: monitoring, optimisation, maintenance.
Continuous evolution
Infrastructure isn’t static. We help you review, update and adapt as your business grows, and technology evolves.
Why this matters to you
With the right platform in place, and the right partner, you avoid infrastructure becoming a drag on performance, a risk to continuity or a blocker to innovation.
Let’s talk about how we can build your next-generation infrastructure together. Contact us to book a free consultation and see how Nutanix and Evolv can support your business.
Less infrastructure complexity, more operational clarity.
A resilient platform that can support business growth and change.
A partner-first approach that puts your business outcomes at the heart of the project, not just another infrastructure solution.
Confidence that your infrastructure won’t hold you back, but instead becomes an ‘enabler’ for your business goals.
McCloskey International
McCloskey international, with it’s Head Office in Northern Ireland, had aging hardware running VMWare. Head Office was replicating it’s VMWare cluster to an external datacentre. Due to infrastructure restrictions, some live workloads had to also run from the datacentre.
Having been introduced to Nutanix and knowing the growth that the company was about to embark on, McCloskey’s recognised Nutanix’s ability to take their infrastructure to the next level. An infrastructure solution was designed and implemented, allowing all workloads from the datacentre to move back to head office. All existing VMs were easily migrated from VMWare to Nutanix using the Nutanix move tool with no outages across any systems.
A DR cluster was also configured in a second McCloskey site, allowing them to remove the need for an external datacentre service.
McCloskey’s have since gone on to implement the Nutanix ROBO (branch office) solution in their sites in the US.
Principal Systems
Principal Systems were already a Nutanix site, but decided to take the opportunity to replace their existing cluster with new hardware, and re-use their old cluster for Disaster Recovery. The live cluster resided in a datacentre in Ireland. All work was carried out remotely, where the following was achieved.
- A new cluster was built offsite configured with everything required to allow it to connect to the Principal Systems network in the datacentre.
- Once shipped and physically connected by the datacentre team, remote access became available and all VMs were migrated from the existing cluster to the new one.
- Ater a period of testing and ensuring that the old cluster was no longer needed, it was remotely wiped and rebuilt on the same datacentre network.
- DR was configured between the two clusters and a full replication carried out.
- The DR cluster was disconnected by the datacentre team and shipped to a location in the UK.
- The DR cluster was physically connected by the Principal Systems IT team in Manchester and remote access was once again provided.
- This allowed the reconfiguration of the cluster with the new location network settings, and the replication was then re-established across a VPN link.
